For severe pain, swelling or a broken tooth, call the clinic during opening hours: +212 535 930 960 or +212 535 624 845, Monday to Friday 9:00–18:00 and Saturday 9:00–13:00. Describe your symptoms and we'll tell you the earliest available slot and what to do in the meantime.
Severe toothache
Strong, throbbing pain that wakes you at night may come from inflammation of the tooth's nerve. Until you're seen, don't put heat on your cheek and don't place medication directly on the gum. The cause is treated after an exam, often with a root canal if needed.
Abscess and swelling
Swelling of the gum or cheek should be checked quickly. If you have a fever, if the swelling spreads towards the eye or neck, or if you have trouble swallowing or breathing, go straight to a hospital emergency department without waiting for a clinic appointment.
Broken tooth
Keep the fragment if you find it, rinse your mouth with water and call the clinic. Depending on the break, the tooth can be repaired with a filling or a crown.
Knocked-out tooth
- Adult tooth: hold it by the crown, never the root. Don't scrub it. Keep it in a container of milk, and see a dentist as fast as possible, ideally within the hour.
- Baby tooth: don't put it back in, but still see a dentist.
Outside opening hours
For major swelling, bleeding that won't stop, fever or a facial injury, go to a hospital emergency department, such as CHU Hassan II in Fès, or call 141 (SAMU ambulance).
